    It depends on contents of the website, however .com domain must have advantage than .blogspot.

    Well it's all depends on your content and your link building method! If you use proper keywords and you write 100% Unique then no metter what domain you have you always have better rankings!

    i recommend that you should use a .com rather an .blogspot.com. why? because on .com you have the 100% full authority of what you like to do on your own .com

    .blogspot.com, blogspot owner can easily delete your account without any reasons, and that is a waste of time :)

    Regardless of ranking you should own your own domains anyway.

    if .com gave better ranking we would all use nothing other than a .com wouldn't we.

    ranking doesn't depend on the domain. You will have more control if you have your blog hosted on a server.

    Anything is ok. But if you want to make a .com instead of .blogspot.com, you must do it very early, or your search engine traffic may be affected greatly.

    I am facing the same problem now. I get 90% of traffic from search engines and I can risk of changing the .com

    i think .com is better because it shows that you own your domain, and for seo, keyword.com is better than keyword.blogspot.com

    Having a TLD plus crowd-pulling content is what matters the most.

    But .blogspot isn't that bad either..

    I have different blogspot blog and it was much easier for me to increased PR but I really wanna try those domain they are offering ...So I think it is much better to own your own domain rather than using blogspot ...Ranking in google really depends in linkbuilding and unique content right?

    Let us assume that you will have unique contents with your .blogspot.com which will give you higher PR. Why not put those contents in .com domain? :D

    First of all, regarding the domain name.
    It is always advisable to have your own domain name. A .blogspot.com is a sub-domain to a domain name and has less authority that TLD(Top level domain). Moreover, why should you be handing over the responsibility to own property to somebody else, making it a situation where you have absolutely zero and the other person has complete control over it.
    Coming to the ranking part - Irrespective of your website being on a TLD or, a sub-domain, if you have done everything right in terms of SEO and you have put in your efforts in link-building, your website should rank well in search engines.
