Well after a long wait, we finally got out new design released, which I have to say has made a huge improvement for us in the design market. Before, we never had too many jobs that found us and contacted us through our website. Now we have got a huge boost in traffic, and have been getting contacted through email. See our new website here: www.knrdesigns.com
Very beautiful site. Not much more to do. Why don't you run ads? [i only looked on the homepage] You should run one under "View More Clients" to fill the void.
Yeah we didn't want to put ads on the website because we just wanted our content on the website. We didn't want to confuse clients into what the ads were, and if they were even ads or not. Plus they don't look all that nice, and will look out of place. Thanks for the comments, keep them coming.
Thanks for the reply. Not sure what you mean, but everyone seems to love the design, so I won't be changing anything on it anytime soon unless someone thinks of a great idea that I haven't thought of.
- I'd get rid of the ink blob in the background, it doesn't really fit that well (in my opinion) - I'd make it so that the navbar and site borders align instead of now having a half a cm opening between them. - I'd change the header graphic, I'm not sure what it's supposed to mean. - I'd move the contact us link that's now at the very top of the page to somewhere else. - I'd get rid of the eye graphic in the title header on each page. - I'd redesign the checkbox graphic which now looks too 3Dy. Those are just my opinions, nothing more
I like the ink blobs, but I don't think they should be mirrored to each side, I would get rid of them on one side only, or make a new variation of the blob for one side altogether. Also, it may be just my browser here at work but the pages for home and about show up blank, and I see some bugs on the contact page, like the name box is cut off at the top and the red text shows up on the far right. Hope this helps, overall very user-friendly design and has some good eye candy, some of us need that sort of thing to stick around long enough to see what your site is all about... ^_^
About the ink blobs, if I remove it on one side, then there will be too much attention focused on one side of the page, which is a big no no in web design. There really isn't another place for the contact link to go... The rest of your guy's suggestions really have no real meaning to them, and are personal preferences. Not everyone in the world will ever all agree on the same thing, so these are suggestions I am going to just let slide, as if I change them now, then someone else will say no they like it a different way, and it will be a never ending process. You guys need to think about these things before mentioning them. Also, what browser are you using? I've tested it in quite a few browsers and came up with no problems. So let me know what browser and which version. Thanks for the comments, though I'm not really looking to change anything, I'm happy with the way it is. Most of the things to change are personal preference, and would just be a waste of time. Thanks though!
Why post in the review section if you don't want any suggestions? I guess my posts in this thread were a waste of time.. Improving your site design and consistency (especially for a web design company) is never a waste of time. Err, I probably put more thought into it than people that just post "Nice site". Thanks though..
I explained to you why the changes to suggested would not be to any value. If I remove one ink blob, then more attention will be drawn to whatever side I leave the ink blog, which is incorrect. Their is nowhere else to put the contact link, and most people look for a contact link in the navigation, it's called user-friendly.\ Making the navigation bar the same width will make the website look over-balanced. It has to have some creativity in the content are (middle). If everything is all aligned perfectly it will look to repetitive. The graphic is supposed to show what we are capable of in design terms. I have been planning to change it, but I am still brain-storming and I need some free time, I am currently swamped with clients. The eye graphic is fine. The only page I am going to remove it on is the packages page, as it shows the eye three times in a row, and is too repetitive. Other than that it would be YOUR personal preference. The check-mark design was the only suggestion of yours that reall made any sense. When I do get time I already plan to re-design it. Once again, thanks for the suggestions, now I went through all of your suggestions and told you why I disagree with them. Keep the comments coming, thanks everyone!
