There's nothing to be offended about. It's one of the most natural things in the world, and babies have to eat. People who find something to argue about with that need to learn how to pick their battles.

I think mothers shouldn't give a shit, and just breastfeed. If people get offended, let them be. I'm sure if they say something, others will tell them to shut up.

Not really. For instance, our bodies were not designed to be smoking factories . Not all mothers should be breast feeding. You can't site there and tell me that a mother who smokes, drinks some and lives on a fast food diet is better off breast feeding. Not sure our bodies were made for that.

If a mother is healthy, she should breast feed.

Bah. Who cares if she knows. I'll walk up and sit right next to her and strike up a conversation. You are too bashful. ;)

Mothers have an obligation to their babies not to do those things. Natural breast milk is incredibly important for the healthy development of a baby. There just isn't any replacement for the "real thing". Any mother who smokes and drinks while the baby should be nursing should be ashamed of herself.

Breast feeding is so important that society should not put up unecessary walls against it.

Obligations and the real world are two different things.

I have seen mothers so into their own desires that they neglect their kids

rofl, America leads the way with sex as recreation rather than procreation. Prudes they are not!
Well there is, actually. I have two friends who spent the first 3 months of their babies lives hooked up to electric "expressing machines" so that their babies could have breast milk despite not being able to latch on. It made their life miserable. I totally agree that "breast is best" but formula is only one step behind.

I found some old photos of me feeding my kids over the weekend....
