Best way to promote a proxy network?

Hello. I've been looking around alot, and I was wondering what the most effective (hopefully free) method is that you have seen to promote a proxy network and maintain a good amount of traffic?

I kept on hearing about all these proxy network owners getting massive earnings a day. So I decided i'd finally try to hop on the bandwagon. I bought 10 domain names, and a host specifically designed for proxy sites (xproxyhost), got glype, and spent all night searching and setting each one up with it's own theme. I submitted all 10 to each of 15 or so proxy list sites, and then tried buying an automatic proxy list submission script for 15$ which ended up not submitting anything at all... Im not very good at the proxy niche as of yet. If they start earning me a little money (for starters i'd be happy with 30$ a month) i'll be happy to design and program my own custom theme and/or proxy. But i'm starting to rethink my decision..

Anyways, what is the best (preferably free) way you have found to promote a proxy site/network?

 

First build a proxy list and seo your butt off. Submit to well known proxy list websites and search on dp for proxy some offer free emails trough proxy email groups etc. Also submit your proxy to stumble and digg.

 

Won't SEO just get you blocked quicker?

You might want to try QuickProxy.net (Check my sig.)..

 

Start your own proxy group and place the subscribe box on each of your proxy sites. Premium List your site on the top 3 proxy lists. Pay for email blasts on other peoples groups (Jacob + Proxy.org recommended). Submit your site to as many NEW/SMALL or well known free proxy lists as you can.

Then start using your own proxy group to advertise once you've got a decent amount of members signed up.

 

some areas appeared to have reduced value in regards to affecting PageRank. These areas include the following aspects:
1. Multiple links from the same site or run-of-site links.
2. Links with text around them that indicate they are purchased such as “Partners”, “Advertising”, etc.
3. Links from sites that hold little relevancy.

Besides, Google Webmaster Tools also underwent several changes:
1. Reduced Link Count
2. 301 redirected URLs do not appear in the link list
