    Someone mentioned about going for the niche that you're most comfortable and knowledgeable about and I totally agree because i cannot imagine a newbie trying to create a cancer/medicine/stocks/loan blog when all these topics are supposed to be written by pros.

    This is the best advice on this thread. In the long run, you'll be much better off picking a topic that you can write on extensively. The best SEO is natural link building and you will get the best natural links if you write quality articles on a topic that you know well.

    Don't look at insurance. Yes, it pays much but what you can do with that kind of saturated niche? I would suggest you to start with low paying clicks but with no or little competition such as sport (very easy to get the traffic there) and entertainment. (depends on the niche)
