Whats up with AVG?

So I have not been able to update my AVG Free virus or spyware definitions for the last week or so. It will not connect to the AVG server. I didn't think anything of it until now. I tried going to the AVG site, and it seems as though I cannot connect to it from FF or IE.

Whats up with AVG? Is it working for anyone else here?

    I can access AVG.

Are you sure you do not have a virus, which is blocking access to that site?

have you tried accessing other anti virus sites?

you will have to find out what virus it is. Probably it's best to search at OS provider sites to get some more info.

Ya thats what I have determined. It will not let me go into control panel or visit virus websites, or download anything to remove viruses. Just tried a system restore point, but it gave me an error on that. Might try a more recent point. Any other ideas?

I assume that your PC is infected by virus. Try to update your AV in safemode. Choose "Safemode with networking" option

If you can, Google "combofix" and download and run that.

For free antivirus, I think Avira is better than AVG.

I have yet to run into any issues with my AVG and I have used it quite a lot. If you can't visit any of those sites maybe you should try to reformat your computer you may of caught a virus or something. I had to reformat not long ago because my computer was infected with many types of viruses and it sucked.
