Curious, what does the average DP poster pay for web hosting? Are you using shared hosting, VPS, or other solutions?
I got a special because I signed a three year contract and Im paying $3.95 a month, but Im sure it will be more thereafter.
I have three shared hosting plans. Ixwebhosting $3.95/month, Lunarpages $6.95/month, and HostGator $7.95/month
For personal stuff i have a mediatemple account that costs 20 a month then for my commercial stuff im paying around 900 a month for dedicated servers
I pay $9.95 for a shared server on hostgator and $174 for my dedicated server with hostgator. No need to get one of those until you're making a lot of cash though. Sean
I use unlimted everything shared web hosting for like $10 p/month and suits my needs find I have tried cheaper hosting than that price like the crazy deals with heavy discounted packages and free months etc. and i got what i paid for - bad experiences. Hosting is like most things in life - you get what you paid for so at least research the company before signing up no matter how good of a deal it seems. eg will that host company still be operating next month
I pay $9.99 with host gator. I have been with many other hosting places and find hostgator to be the best so far. I agree, always find a hosting company that is legit and just because it is cheap does not make it a good bet.
I pay $650 per rack (I have five of them) plus $85-$115 for an extra electric line for each rack. I own my own servers. Looking into getting a cage sometime later this year.
$20/month for VPS. $5.95/month shared. I have a total of 6 servers and they all range around those two prices. But I got discounts for both when I signed on for a year (my two best deals listed)
