Will you use it - either as a advertiser or a twitter who sends ad messages to your followers? I've covered about a new startup called SponsoredTweets on my blog today so I thought I would share it with you and seek your opinion of this new service and what you think it means for Twitter! This sort of "pay per" advertising network is not new to all of you but it is new to Twitter - at least a coordinated effort. I saw few posts here on DP seeking ad purchase through Twitter accounts. Not sure how successful they were. Do you think you will use this service - either as an advertiser or a twitter? Twitter clickthough is around 1% to 3% that means for every 100 followers, only 1 to 3 people will click on your Tweet. Is this worth it if someone does not have targetted dedicated followers? Lots of questions but what do you think?
I signed up with sponsored tweets too, for me the bottom line counts. I have 250 followers and whenever I post a link I get 6 -7 clicks, so I guess it's a good deal for me. I don't mind sending out twits to my followers - most of them are spammers anyway.
I must be just about the only person alive who has never had anything to do with Twitter. I never thought about it as a business opportunity. Will it make me any money?
How much u can earn depends on a set metric determined when you join sponsored tweets. They will use an algorithm to calculate and determine the rate you can charge advertisers per tweet, depending on your followers etc. Like for e.g. I get to charge $1 per tweet and subsequent click gets me 15 cents.
I signed up and I will use it. I haven't had any offers yet though. I would imagine you would need a considerable amount of followers. Shoemoney also wrote about this and he had an offer from Kmart which he accepted. They pay well, but they probably couldn't care less about people like me with very few followers.
Well, a few dollars here and there do add up over the long run. It's easy money anyway. Unless you are a professional Internet Marketer pulling in thousands per month, then this might look useless to u.
Oh no, I don't have a problem pulling in anything I can. I just htink that there are going to be so many people to compete with that has about the same amount of followers I do that I probably won't get many, if any, offers. Has anyone here had any yet? Shoemoney is the only one that I know of that has.
I don't believe that's accurate. Although SponsoredTweets.com has signed up many twitter celebs, I believe the marketplace accepts non-celebs as well. Advertisers who signup then have tools to review and select which tweeters would be most appropriate to discuss their product/service...
This might help in brand building and brand publicity. This would attract lots of clicks but not profitable for lead generation companies.
I guess this is basically it for many - the bottom line. Hence, I could see many taking advantage of this service to make a few bucks. If your followers are real and if the click through rate is high, then it make sense as well.
