    Is there any program (free if possible) that opens .ai image files ? (except of Photoshop)

    Adobe Illustrator does.. other than that I don't really know of any other program that does

    .ai is Adobe Illustrator format. so obvious its the best program to use.
    CorelDRAW X3 can open ai format as well

    but i suggest you use a trial version of illustrator ;) tat works 100% and its free

    you can also convert the ai into svg (that's vector also) so that when the trial expires you can still use the svg in inkscape. inkscape is a free vector editing program.
