    I think you got it right its:

    <a href="link">Ferrari</a>

    that will show up as Ferrari with a link on the word.

    Yes, there's usually two methosds for anchor text, either the "a href" html tag you stated, or
    [url=http://site.com/]anchor[/url]
    Code (markup):
    for BBcode sites.

    If you have a URL on your site that you are trying to rank for "ferrari" then don't make every link to that page use the same link text. I would suggest using the EXACT link text you want to rank for 40-60% of the time... and the remainder of the time use lots of slight variations like "ferraris" as well as mostly 2 word variations like "ferrari automobiles" so the keyword density of "ferrari" within the link text is high (50%)... But also include a small percentage of links w/ 3, 4, and 5 word phrases that include "ferrari" and "ferraris". This makes your back link profile look much more natural.

    "Ferrari" looks like a very competitive keyword. Maybe you should rethink if you really want to use that as your anchor text. Long-tail keywords are much easier to optimize. Try other keyword variations like "red ferrari," "new ferrari," "ferrari car," etc.

    If you're linking within your Web site and don't care about absolute URIs, you can ditch the http:// and www. parts. If you're linking to another Web site, you MUST include the http:// at the very least.

    Yes he is. In fact, just repeating the content of the anchor element can cause issues. If anything, it should read something like "Listing of Ferraris for sale" or "The Official Ferrari Web Site" for example (should it even be used at all).
