I expect MS will get a slight bump when Windows 7 becomes the defacto windows version. IE8 really runs smoothly in Windows RC. I'm a firefox guy but honestly on RC I am using IE8 just as much as Firefox. I smell a rat perhaps because it runs on my system even smoother than Firefox.

I agree that Microsoft has make some improvements with IE 8.0
But, unfortunately not enough to beat up the Firefox :)

I just keep IE just in case as well. Websites like the dreaded Microsoft requires IE to run properly. Although I think this can be bypassed by user agent switching. Anyway, I'm sticking to FireFox whatsoever. Firefox 3.5 is awesome, great features, customization, add-ons. Simply perfect. I quit using IE for more than 6 months now...lol

Sorry but I have to say no on this. I would say that Firefox is much more faster and stable than IE8. IE8 has no History of browsed website, that's one of the reason why I hate using IE8.:p

IE8 seems to beef up some of the basics of Windows XP. I've noticed that since upgrading to IE8, Windows XP is noticeably faster, and Firefox 3.5 is faster. Chrome is unchanged.

Internet 8 is the best but comparing to Mozilla I will give more preference to Firefox in terms of Safety, Stability and more.

i think even if IE were to decide to pull their socks up and make their software how it should have been made they will still have the reputation of being poor quality and FF will have the upper hand

It really depends on what you're doing and what you need a browser for. I have them all loaded because each one serves certain purposes better than others.

In addition to this, some are Microsoft haters so they basically add some trojan or viruses to their website if they sense the user is using IE. Firefox more safer in my opinion. Now that's a heck of an advantage.

IE8 is better than new FF (3.5). I am currently using Opera and IE8. I was regular FF user for some years, but i still used IE on daily basis.

Opera is the best light and fast browser out there. It has been leading the fastest browser since 1995 (since i start using it)

On some point IE8 has already improved a lot they deserve to get some credit. I only use firefox, ie7&8, chrome, safari when i do some cross browser check.. most of the time is on Opera ^^

That shows you are as technically inept as IE8 is and no one should listen to you for advice. See my links below.
