500 - 800 impressions every day and only 1 click a day

You are getting relevent ads. but you need to optimize your ads size. i think you have to use Large ractangles in the place of "about the author" place & in the place of Leader boards on top use link unit. it will help you to gain much clicks then ever.

i am adding content most days but i dont know how good it is doing me,

how do people talk about getting 20,000 uniques a day to me it seems impossible

Make them blend in more, like it is a part of the content.

 

350 uniques per day is pretty good, you should make at least a few $ a day

I agree with the other comments - it seems like you can blend the Adsense background with your site background and that might help.
Experiment with other placements - often time the left side does well vs. the right side.
These sound like small changes but they can make a big difference.

just updatin content everyday its hit and miss it seems for me sometimes search engines like them and some times they dont , use digg reddit facebook to promote thats about it

 

Use both Image and text ads. The key here is really to test and see what works for you. Each site varies and there is no fixed formula.

Also, avoid people trying to sell you an eBook. Just write quality content and make your site engaging to human visitors. Just throw in a few of the keywords you want to target and voila. As you build your site's brand, you will also get targetted traffic. This stuff will take time, it wont take overnight.
