To search for your site in the Directory, use just blurple.net

An editor may have been moving site suggestions to the proper category, or it could have been one of our automatic QC tools checking the site url to make sure it was up. :)

It could just as likely mean that they are rejecting the site.

I did not say they would or would not reject it. ... a visit in your stats from DMOZ could mean anything of many things! Just do not jump to any conclusion based on the visit
Most sites added to dmoz were never submitted in the first place.

Just the name alone would make me look, though I haven't yet. Great name by the way, lol. :)

Ok, now I've looked, an seo dude. Love the colors and the easy navigation. If I edited in that area and ran across your site, I think I'd list it, but I don't know what the criteria for listing sites in that area are, or what would be considered unique content for it. I normally don't look at sites I see over here, but the name got to me. :)

what part of dmoz hit it? It could have been editors chatting on the internal forums or possibly one of the tools pages *boggles for the reason of that one* maybe someone mentioned you on the blog? Or maybe another web solution submitted your site and sent the editor an offer for money, as you are their competition and want to get you banned from ever making it in... I'd have offered the possibility of it being simply submitted by the end user, but not for that niche ;)

No, but I was personally curious about a site named blurple, lol. Any editor, can list any site, from anywhere they find it, even from this forum, though I never have.

I doubt that such a person would be foolish enough to get themselves banned by trying to ban someones competitor, and I'm sure our metas are smart enough to investigate sources.

Heh... the fact that DMOZ will ban a site based on the actions of a webmaster and still claim that webmasters have NOTHING to do with a site listing speaks volumes on the mindset of the ODP. A service for the end user my foot!

Besides, it's all been discussed here before, so it seemingly has happened or could potentially happen, so it's certainly on the list of possibilities, and as editors wont talk about what really happens, it's up to the world to speculate. ;)

I'm sure they are not... masking IPs through a proxie is not all that hard, and in fact, dupping an IP to make it look like it came from an IP given by a web most is REALLY easy, and can only cost ya $5 (per month) if you actually want to make it a REAL IP listed by a web host. So as you can see, the people are willing to discuss how it can be done, sadly, the only 'proof' that the editors will discuss is nothing more then saying "the meta team has ways" LOL.
