    Hi

I am working for a fabrication company now where I maintain the website, publicity, etc. Just recently, we have gotten into retail sales, so we're looking for an online storefront.

My question is, is it worth it for me to code an e-commerce site along with all of the other things that go with it, or should I go with a template or a web design firm to get the big stuff out of the way for me?

My experience is quite minimal when viewed over a large scale. I have been messing with CSS and HTML, but when it comes to PHP and etc, I am lost.
    Please help.

If it is a serious ecommerce site that wants to make money I wouldn't advise using a template that is probably in use on other sites. Would be better if you can creating a unique site and then incorporating a cart into it.

I would say you should use already build store such as zen cart coz it easy to use and it have many template.
The more important thing is you can save a lot of time when you using this compare to built it from scratch.

When it comes to any business, unique is always better than using a template. However, this also depends on your financial situation. Rather than investing large sums into a site that may not take off, you may want to first try it out with a template and later on have a designer develop a unique site for you.

It depends on how much time you have. If you use a template, it does not have to look exactly like the template. We used ours for just a base platform and made it work to our advantage, needs and requirements.

    Original

You just need somebody who is good with design and function.
