How to get backlinks without doing link exchange?

Link exchange requests with similar websites, you could email them, we always receive at least about 10 requests a day.

 

The best ways for me are to exchange links and join groups of like minded people that all link to one another. Buying links probably couldn't hurt, but if Google finds out it will be bad news.

 

There are lot of channels to gain backlinks:

a) Bookmarking Sites
b) Promotion in Forums
c) Link exchanges with thematic Sites
d) Blog commenting in do-follow blogs
e) Submission to leading web directories
f) Submission to Article Directories
g) Link promotion in Yahoo or Google groups (discussing topics related to your website)

 

Write great articles and ask webmasters to post on their blogs as guest posts.. I find this to be the best source of links and traffic.

 

...and to add to this, rewrite those articles and submit them to the top directories. That way you get extra bang for your effort.

 

CONTENT! Without it, you are just pissing into the wind.

You can pay for links, but if you have worthy content, links come free in many cases

You can get backlinks through forum posting and article submission, even social bookmarking. Posting comments in blogs and Y&A sites like Yedda is also a linkbuilding method. Make sure the sites where you're submitting your site have dofollow attributes.

There are many ways towards getting backlinks. You can try directory submissions, blog commenting, or even forum signature links.

well..try yahoo answer..pretty effective ..plus your links are permanent.. and your traffic is targeted.. source of traffic if you put a link in yahoo answer ( with the condition --> your answer is voted as the best answer ):
1. Direct traffic from the asker. (The person who ask the question will surely visit your link)
2. Direct traffic from the voter.
3. If someone search for the same question (about the same question), your yahoo answer page will very likely appearing in the search result.

NOTE: asker, voter and searcher <--- all targeted traffic (in other words, they are all interested in the topic you are answering --> for example: you are talking about motorcycle, all your traffic will be from someone who are interested in motorcycling)
