I offer advertisement on my site.

After every month when advertisement period expires and i have free spots available, how am i suppose to tell DP users that free spots are available again.

I made a thread stating free spots are available and they can PM me.

Mods deleted my thread. Reason - "Duplicate threads"

Last thread which i made is over 1 and 1/2 months old and i can't even edit that thread or bump that thread saying free spots are available. Mods will ban me for it.

Now what am i suppose to do?

Sammy04, try advertising site in your signature when you have spots to sell and link to your thread.

Smyrl, i want to ask the same question. What if we started threads about our links or any services last month and we want to start it again for new month sales? Can we ask some mod to close the last one and start a new one? Because we can't bump our own threads or can't even ask anyone to do so and can't be able to edit it so it's hard for people doing sales every month.
It's even hard to advertise each and every sale in your signature as there are sometimes more thn expected sales for a seller specially for the one who is outsourcing so please find a way for this :)
    Thanks

Just list in signature something like links now selling for (list site or genra) for (give time frame) and link to old thread. Once they have sold, remove from signature.

People don't look for signatures while buying links and they usually look out for threads :)
    Is this the only way?

The only way we might consider closing it to let you start a new thread is if the old one was an auction which was obviously already won and fulfilled. If it's a straight sales thread, very unlikely - you'd need to use your sig to promote it.

That's sad, no one look in your sigs if your advertising.

How about deleting our old posts? and then we can make a new 1 and when again links are sold we delete it. So there won't be a duplicate threads.

DP is not what it used to be, with all new rules it sux to be honest.

If this goin to be like this i'm leaving DP.

We do not delete old posts. That would mean losing a history of the user's activities on the site, including reviews (both positive and negative). It would also pose problems with the iTrader system, which are tied to those sales threads.

The duplicate thread rules are in no way new. While no one's telling you to leave, no one's making you stay either. If you require a community that allows duplicate threads, then I'll simply wish you the best of luck in finding one that better suits you.

its simple..ask the mods to close your old thread and create a new one..

Every month do this and mods wont delete your thread as the old one is closed..

bornmad - Wrong. You cannot get a thread closed to create a new one in all cases, and it's not simple. There have to be significant changes to the deal offered. If you have it closed and proceed to start a new thread that is not significantly different, you'd get a duplicate thread infraction despite the other being closed, and the new one would be closed, deleted, or merged with the first.

As it was already noted, it depends if the deal has significantly changed and if the original was an auction or not. Auctions by their very nature should be closed when they're complete, because they're limited deals and you can't have bids months later against previous bids already winning. But if it was just a general sales thread, then no. Unless there are significant changes in the offer, you should add a link to the original sales thread in your sig to let people know the offer is available again.

My point would be that what good would be a link in a signature if only a handful of members see it?

It's up to you to bring attention to it by contributing to the community. That's the option to promote older sales threads. As I've mentioned in a few other threads here recently, from experience I can tell you it does work.

Just change your prices around (give or take a dollar), so you can qualify for a new thread. :p
