    Hi guys,

I’m new to the SEO game. I want to start my project asap.

I am only going to target like 3 keywords. I have researched them fully. They each have around an average of 1 million competition.

I know this question is probably stupid but here it is.

In order to get ranked by Google for a keyword for example “plumber in London” does that phrase have to be within my content and if so where are the best places to put it and how many times should I repeat it (if any).

The other question is, when I start my link building campaign, how many links should I build and when should I change my anchor text? And also where are the best places to build links. The ones I know so far are

    Forum Posting (Signature)
    Blog Commenting
    Directory Submission

I would highly appreciate any help given. :D

IMO, the best place to repeat the targeted keywords is in the first, second and the last paragraph. While for link building campaign, just choose dofollow blogs and forums that have the same niche like yours. CMIIW.

Ensure that it's in your title tag, that's the most important thing.

As for how many times it should appear in your content... once or twice should be enough.

One reason could be that the site in question has a lot of backlinks with the keyword/phrase used in them.

Forum Posting (Signature) - almost worthless in terms of ranking but it does increase your crawl rate

Blog Commenting - still useful but i suspect it will be that way for long. i guess enjoy while it lasts

Directory Submission - directories will give you some backlinks and the value you get out of it depends on how many directories and what kind of directories you submit to. i would say its ok to use it in your link building campaing as a mix

best backlinks you can have are the links that are theme related so focus on getting theme based backlinks which will help you out in the long run

I 'v been told that the closer the word is to the start, the more heavily weighted it is as a keyword. This is true for the bot as well as the reader.

You should also include link exchange and article submission as part of your linkbuilding campaign. Blog commenting won't do any good, because most blogs these days have nofollow attributes.

Do a Google search for "click here" and see what comes up. The site ranked #1 doesn't have click here any where on the page. They are ranked #1 for a very competitive term (over 1 billion competing pages) because everyone that links to them uses a phrase similar to "to download adobe reader click here".

As for the links. If you are going for a term like "plumber in london" I would start out by looking for 2 types of directories.

    1. Industry directories (i.e. list of plumbers)
    2. Geographic directories (i.e. businesses in london)

Well keep on rotating anchor text really helps a lot, When you are using any anchor, you have to wait until it comes to the position of google. And then you have to start another anchor for SEO.

Slow SEO really helps a lot i believe, It's worth as well. So don't do any fast services to get SEO.

I think, you shouldn't post your links here, Only ideas will be appreciated. There is a chance to get bad name, if you post your links here. So beware and take care.
