You can get traffic with free traffic exchanges. Use auto-surfing TE, so that you won't waste your time clicking. My favorite is Traffic Spammer, because it never stops rotating and it brings a lot of traffic to my sites. There are many free traffic exchanges!

This traffic is not so good, like the traffic you have from your articles, for example, but it is traffic, and helps your ranking. Try also Silent Hits, Honey Hitz, Breed Traffic, etc. Just type their names in the search box and you'll find their sites. These traffic exchanges have many users. I don't have time to give you here a list, but you'll find many.

Of course, the best traffic comes from articles you post to article directories like ezinearticles.com because these visitors care about your topic, since they are reading your articles, but everything helps...

Create a free blog at blogger.com or wordpress.com and write something. Your blogs will drive traffic to your website, and they have more chances to have better ranking because you'll post fresh content everyday or every week, etc. This is very helpful too.

 

Traffic can be achieved the easy way or the hard way.
Easy way: start promoting your website on forums, web directories and social bookmarking websites.
The bad thing is you might end up having only NEW VISITORS.

Hard way: write quality content. Why should you do this? Well, it's the hard way because some people seem to have a hard time creating quality content, original and frequently. Think that if you create quality content on a specific niche you'll get recommended. Websites will link to you. Relevant website will link to you. OK. So, now you'll have organic visits from search engine (Google most likely) but you can also build in time a some kind of a community: people constantly interested in your content. People who actually find your information useful. People who might recommend you to other people. Now, frequent visits and loyal visits bring you a certain number of visits close to a constant number montly. We're talking about loyal readers. Since you have loyal readers and the traffic of your website increased you can start putting some ads.

I think you have to focus on getting traffic first as it is in our control..

 

Make sure as you are getting more involved with social media networks you are updating them with useful content and posts. That will make you more credible

 

I would not worry about PR. There are many sites that rank above others with higher PRs in search results.

Focus on building a site that people will use and you can make money with. Your marketing approach will depend on your niche but like many others have said in this post, it's hard to go wrong with quality content.
