I've rebuilt a site that at one time was pretty popular. The site is http://www.myjokemail.com it fell to the side for a couple of years and now I'm trying to bring it back up. I really wanted to try to get it to come up on the first page of google when you search for "jokes" so far I've got it to move from 580th position to 411th when searching for "jokes" in the last month.

    Any advise?

Add links by writing articles and use YouTube to create a video and link to your website

it's a 10 year old domain. just build backlinks day and night. site is poorly optimized for search engine bots. also I would suggest to redesign the front page.

front page is secondary to backlinks. your first priority should be building links massively. also do some social networking and bookmarking as your site perfectly fits in there.

as for your front page, I am guessing your recent blog post is positioning as your front page. If you could add little bit of intro about your stie just below the register banner with keywords that would be great.

anyways... what is the system behind your site, is it some kind of social network script?

    Hey Mike,

When you rebuilt your site, did you change the internal linking and page structures by any chance? If so, did you set up the proper 301 redirects from the old pages/URIs to their new locations?
