Is it even possible to take over Google's place as the top search engine?

The harder other search engines try to take over Google, the more Google seems to grow. Whenever I try another search engine I always seems to feel "homesick" because I've been loyal to Google ever since I started using the internet. Do you think search engines such as Bing.com are just wasting their time with all their advertising? Even if they spent billions of dollars into advertising I don't they can do it.

 

Nope.. No one will be even closer in near future. Even the Bing and Yahoo joint venture.

It's possible but it still amazes me how poor the results returned by Yahoo and Bing are when you look for less common search phrases. Any competing search engine has a steep hill to climb.

 

I agree. Some of these newer search engines think that Google is simply a "fad". They fail to recognize that people look up to them for "quality search results".

 

It is possible, but it will take time and quality the only one i think that can beat them is Microsoft if they put quality into it.

Hi its very hard to beat the biggest invention of all time. recently microsoft and yahoo made agreement of doing it. Let see they will be able do it in near future or its just marketing stunt. for their search engines.

It's possible, most definitely, considering the fact that Google wasn't the first search engine. If Google managed to beat Yahoo, then something will be able to beat Google.

Microsoft, Google, Coca Cola, Sony etc..

 

They are not wasting their time because running a business is not a easy thing. And different people have different thoughts. Its depend upon on routine life. What people need.

Yes, it is possible: when Google will stop existing. It's unlikely a new search engine should suddenly EXPLODE on the Internet and become the next Google. Being LIKE Google takes time.
