Need hosting advice

This is what I have right now

    http://www.blogengage.com

    Godaddy

    256 MB Guaranteed
    1 GB Bursted
    Virtual Dedicated
    Bandwidth Quota: 500 GB
    Quota Used: 44 GB

See that is not my issue! Many members are having issues getting the page to load so I need more memory?

What should I do to fix the speed and page not loading issues?

Also when I do an e-mail blast my server always goes down!

It's so annoying to send 5000 e-mails and have all visitors getting page not found!

You can try getting more memory, however I would check if there are any other bottlenecks.

PhotonVPS-Jim given a good suggestion increasing memory may fix this issue. My suggestion would be if your site is running good go for dedicated server :).

You need to optimize the services on your VPS, including MySQL and Apache. 256mb of memory is fairly low for a mysql driven site. I am going to assume that you have a control panel as well, and they can eat up your ram as well. First, optimize for what you have, then, upgrade if needed.
