Hi to everyone at DP. This is my very first thread here and I hope its the first of many! Please accept my apologies if i have posted this in the wrong place, I'm sure i will figure the forum out within the next couple of days... I'm fairly new to IM and Ive just stumbled across the affiliate marketing "thing". I joined clickbank last week and have started posting links on free-sites such as post classified sites and even placed a few locally around my area. I can see in clickbank that I have got about 30 hop clicks but no sales showing as of yet. I bet 30 clicks sounds pathetic to you guys but we all have to start from the bottom right? Anyway, Ive been watching a few video's here and there and alot of people seem to be into blogging and posting there links into them. I have just opened an account with blogger and done a couple with some pics etc. but the thing i cannot seem to understand is just how do i get people to see my blog? I know everyone bangs on about getting more traffic to their sites but i just want to know how to get a few... like 1 visitor will do! LOL. Just to see that it has been looked at will probably give me a heart attack with excitement! How do i get my first bit of traffic? Any traffic? What is RSS feed all about? Does this bring in traffic? Once my blog has been published does this not mean that it will be seen in google etc? Do i need to start studying this SEO stuff? Obviously a complete newbie here so once again sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. You should know these 3 things before considering about the traffics 1. Market and Product 2. Keyword for your market (for SEO and PPC) 3. Target Audience - How can you produce the content that attract visitors? Which topics they are pay attention to?
The secret of success in affiliate marketing is to attract BUYERS, not BROWSERS. So you'll need to learn all about SEO and PPC, because search engines are where buyers come from.
How do i get my first bit of traffic? That is a very open question that can be answered with a lot of different things. I am going to say comment on other blogs. What is RSS feed all about? This allow your readers to read your content from their RSS feed readers. Does this bring in traffic? Add your rss feed to facebook, linkedin, and friendfeed. This will bring in traffic as you get more and more friends on these social media sites. Once my blog has been published does this not mean that it will be seen in google etc? No, google and the other search engines have to index your blog first. Do i need to start studying this SEO stuff? Yes, you should learn the basics of SEO and PPC. hi, the key understanding for me about aff marketing is about the role: the role of an affiliate maketer is to introduce targeted buyers to targeted sellers. To be a middleman in the process in such a way that a sale become expected. It is NOT the aff marketers job to sell anything but to provide targeted traffic to the seller in such a way that the sale can happen naturally between the buyer and seller. This all comes about by finding ways to get targeted traffic to targeted sales pages, allowing the sales page to do the selling. Hope that helps a bit, dave
The very firs thing I ever tried (and it worked) was commentibg on blog posts. I found this very effective and free. It gave me a cash injection to pursue payed methods of marketing. Z

Welcome to DP Well there are basically two ways of getting traffic for your website - earn it on your own or buy it from someone. If you have a leverage potential of the site to make sales or generate revenue, then you should try buying some bits of traffic. RSS ... to simplify is a list of links with description of latest activity on certain site, blog for example. This feed then can be put into a reader or into another website that can aggregate it etc... RSS can bring you extra traffic if you work with it properly.

Slightly changed my plans now (Again) and have started up with justjost and got myself a basic website but the next problem im having is I want to put my landing page template on it and havent got a clue. Is anybody able to tell me a solution? I have the file stored on my desktop at the moment but when i import to my site it just says a load of web-shite-jargon! Am i meant to learn how to "code" it in? Or can someone do this stuff for me? Simmo
Gof for a good and cheap web hosting cpmpany. Create your landing page or a brand new website. Do lots of seo and link building on it and keep promoting.
I would disagree with your statement aff marketer job is to make a sale because thats the only way you make money..you dont get paid for people cliking your aff links...
