    hey all,

so, it seems like Google has no problems with forums using revenue sharing (as DP does). has anyone encountered any cases that seem to suggest otherwise?

There seems to be nothing in the TOS to suggest that you can't engage in revenue sharing. Having said that, I took my Pub-ID out of DP a long time ago as I didn't want to take any chances. Just in case Google had a problem with people sharing their Pub-IDs.

I took out my adsense pub-id today. I made few cents from DP in two months. It's a nice marketing tool for DP. But I did learn a lot from this forum. I don't think that the revenue sharing is against TOS.

yeah, i decided to take down my pub id as well as i don't want to take any chances.

anyway, i was primarily wondering how safe this concept was from a forum site owner's perspective. TOS does not mention it which is good thing. Plus Google guys are said to hang around this forum. so if any of this was an issue, they'd pull the plug by now, i think.

I saw a similar forum about 2 months before in China, but now it's down for some unknown reasons.

the way i read it is: you cannot display 2+ google ads on the same page (not site) if those ads have different pub ids.

If google has contacted Shawn before about inappropriate content, I think they probably would have told him if it wasn't ok for him to do.....

Or, I'm sure Shawn has contacted Google about this, he isn't the kind of guy that just puts up a feature without carefully thinking about it first.

I would have to say that Jenstar is wrong on this one. The terms state you cannot display other AdSense customer's ad unit unless authorized by Google OR the AdSense customer (not both).

Revenue sharing ads are only displayed by users who authorize such (by putting their AdSense info on their account).

I would have to agree with Shawn on this one. It does seem that it's probably all right to do this (according to the TOS). Moreover, the ads are not being displayed at the same time, i.e: Only one publisher's ads are being displayed "at a time" on a page.

Having said that, I had my concerns which is why I have taken my Pub ID out.

That last repeated "if authorized" part is really confusing... it seems that in either case you still need to be authorized by Google.

The big thing is the *or*... To be honest, it doesn't really seem confusing to me.
