I have been confused lately with my linkbuilding campaign . Some people tell me that relative backlinks are best for your site and can do wonders for your serps. Higher the Pr better it is . Some say relativity is just a myth its all about the pr , more the pr from the site I am backlinking from more will be my crediblity and my serps will improve So basically , High pr back links and any relevant links will do me good ? and zero pr link from irelavant site will do me no good ? what do you think ? what to believe ?
Whoever told you that relativity is a myth is wrong. PR is given by industry and search engines have said that relevancy is what matters the most. Of course I would never deny a link from a high PR site that's not related to my topic but relevant links are the best. I would concentrate all my efforts in getting links from relevant sites and whatever comes my way thats of good quality I will take
So what are you are trying to say zero PR links from a relevant blog will do me good as well as high pr links ? but zero pr links from irellavant site will do me no good ?
Having backlinks from un-related sites isn't going to harm you but it will be a lot harder and most time won't look natural to get a backlink for a Used Cars website in a Gucci Handbags blog. Also you have to consider that backlinks can generate valuable traffic so it is always recommended to stick to your niche. Building links in PR0 domains won't harm you but it won't help you as much as a higher PR site. So both things are half true. It will always be easier to get back links from related websites but it won't harm you if you don't. You should always take into consideration PR not because of the green bar in the google toolbar but because usually those sites give a more reputable and heavier link "power" to you. Think of links as a votes: would you rather buy a car recommended by 10 friends that don't have a driving license or buy a car that is recommended by 3 mechanics? If all 13 (related and un-related sites) vote/link for that car than it is a sure purchase, if only 10 friends without a license (un-related sites) recommend that car you should consider it but ask for a second opinion, if 3 mechanics (related and high PR sites) tell you to buy a car it is 99.9% a sure purchase. The search engines pretty much "think" the same way
Quality links, in my opinion, are links that are very much relevant to your site and come from pages with good PR. When you say a link is relevant, it should be related to your niche. Google gives weight to these factors in ranking a site.
What I normally do is start within my niche, I mean as close as possible then work my way out. So if my site is about "Used Cars" I find all the sites that I can about used cars and place my link, then sites just about any car and so on until I am wore out haha. I focus on high page rank but to look natural I will get some PR0 links. How can 20 PR5 sites link to you but no others? To look natural you have to get a wide variety of links to your site. Hope this helps.
Backlinks are always good for your site, be it from Relevant sources or irrelevant sources. But yes relevancy does matter and would give you much higher SEO values for your site. Even i try to focus more on relevancy with high PR sources but cannot also deny the irrelevant sources with high PR. Relevancy and high PR does matter but it doesnt mean you need to ignore getting links from irrelevant sources.
as much as possible build a relevant links for your site.. it brings more relevant and quality source of traffic...
Provided you ask 3 reputable mechanics of course. Are they telling you the cars that bring them the most business, or do they tell you about the ones they see the least? PR = Authority, plain and simple. Very well put.
As I read in some SEO articles that it is better to have backlinks to relevant sites with higher Page Rank. Because it is important to google in page ranking the backlinks coming from relevant sites with higher PR.
Links from high PR sites that are not relevant and do not have the keywords you want to rank for as the link text will NOT help your URL's rankings... All they do is pass your page PR. And PR has almost no effect on rankings since it is only a minor ranking factor and only 1 of 200+ such factors. Other things like the link text of inbound links and the relevance of the page linking to your URL carry far more weight. The <title> and <h1> of the page itself probably carries more weight than the URL's own PR. IMO the following three attributes of a link are the most important and are listed in the order of importance with regard to Google rankings... In other words, I think Google "rates" links from best to worst as follows: EXCELLENT: link text contains targeted keyword phrase PLUS link is from relevant page PLUS link is from high PR page VERY GOOD: link text contains targeted keyword phrase PLUS link is from relevant page (not from high PR page) GOOD: link text contains targeted keyword phrase PLUS link is from high PR page (not from relevant page) FAIR: link text contains targeted keyword phrase only (not from relevant page / not from high PR page) POOR: link is from relevant page PLUS link is from high PR page (link text does NOT contain targeted keyword phrase) VERY POOR: link is from relevant page only (link text does NOT contain targeted keyword phrase and not from high PR page) WORST: link is from high PR page only (link text does NOT contain targeted keyword phrase and not from relevant page) The above handles every combination of the 3 important attributes of an inbound link. Links rated POOR and lower likely have very little if any influence on your URL's ranking for a given keyword phrase. PS: By link text contains targeted keyword phrase I mean either the targeted keyword phrase or some variation of that keyword phrase... some link text that would lead Google to believe that the page is somehow related to the search phrase.
then i saw the self contracdiction of google it vaules authority and relevancy then , which counts more in its eyes?
