The END of the YAHOO Search Engine........

Discussion in 'Yahoo' started by 5ky.com, Jul 29, 2009.

As you may be aware of earlier today, Yahoo and Microsoft announced a 10 year partnership, to hopefully challenge Google's dominant 55% share of the search engine market.

This means that Microsoft will be in full command of all search engine facilities, with Yahoo taking contol all Microsoft marketing.

They will create an immediate 30% share of the market.

Allthough user's won't notice a difference, this means the end of Yahoo as a search engine.

Yes i have heared about this report on BBC.
I think Yahoo will remain in existance because there are number of users who are still using yahoo search engine to remain loyal.
But as these both Gaint of search engine are going to be a partner, they will have a very effective change in the area of google.
On the other hand google is familiare with this , he will do a lot of new and creative work to catch more and more visitors.

Let just wait and see how this partnership will go against the Big G. This is a long term planning, I believe there will be not much different for the SE market in this few years.

I don't think Microsoft and Yahoo will take over Google. Google is one of the most highly evolving businesses in the world. They won't relinquish their standing without a fight.

Food for thought... how crazy that people here and elsewhere are actually *rooting* for Microsoft (aka "the little guy") to take on big, bad Google... consider for a minute how truly bad things are when "we the people" are actually cheering on a monster like microsoft. I'm not saying I disagree with peoples opinions on the matter, just simply reflecting on how insane it is that people percieve microsoft to be our last best hope at preventing the behemoth that is Google from taking over the world and casting them in the David vs. Goliath role LOL

p.s.- Bing sucks a$$, thier results are mostly subdomains after subdomain from the same sites, am I the only one that has noticed that?? Even Cuil beats them at accuracy and personally it seems to me yahoo search is far more relevant than Bing is at it's query results so the whole thing is odd to me but thats just me I guess.

I have no problem saying goodbye to yahoo search. IMHO, results were awful. My garbage sites with no decent content but high in keyword density outranked by best commercial sites for the same keywords. Bing is not perfect, but its results are better than any others Microsoft has ever produced, and it has some nice features and good looks.

I think that Bing will enhance the Yahoo property. So, good for both M$ and Y!.

Great move, but I doubt if they will ever beat Google's dominance. This partnership would be futile or wouldn't have any impact at all if they didn't come up with strategies to attract more internet users.

I think that it's a smart move for Yahoo and Bing to join forces. Neither of them can take on Google alone so whats the next best thing? Besides, i really dont care who owns what as long as my sites rank...lol.

I remember the old days of the Yahoo search engine in the late 90's.

It was truly dreadful - you could never find what you were looking for.

    God Bless Google.
