What do the thread tags can help for SEO.

    I see Forums have updated and newly a text box for us to add tags.
    "Separate tags using a comma. You may add 5 tag(s) to this thread."
    I think this shall be helpful. But not many members use them.


    My Question is:
    How the tags affect and help us SEO better.
    or
    What the tags purpose?

    Tags are basically glorified meta keywords. The big difference is that with tags you can usually click on the tags to view all pages that share that tag. This creates more content for a site and creates more relevant internal links. I suppose those tags would also be used as meta keywords to help traffic a bit.
