Do forum signatures really help?

I have forum accounts on various sites and I am wondering how much a signature really helps. Let's say link to one of my sites from my sig line here with the anchor text "anchor text choice one" and from another forum I link to the same site with "anchor text choice two."

Would this help my site? I know I only have a handful of posts here, but I have a lot of posts on other forums. Just wondering how much this helps.

Also, is it a bad idea to link to let's say two of my niche sites here and then the same two on another sig? Or should I mix it up: like link to two sites here and link to two different sites on a different forum sig?

 

Forum sigs do help, as long as they're dofollow links. Nofollow signature links don't really help too much besides the traffic is may generate from other forum users clicking on the link.

 

Yes they do help you as some times you can get a lot of traffic from them apart from the PR juice

All backlinks gives you some benefit if they are dofollow and are not from a banned domain. The matter is what is the value of a particular link. A backlink from a authority site related to your industry will be the most beneficial. As long as forum signature links are considered they give you benefit in getting some PR juice, regular crawling (if forum gets regularly crawled by bots) and some visitors.

yup i agree for signature help full for getting SERP as well also help for increasing traffic but always post and create thread in relevant category!!!

But how do we get traffic from signature links, i mean if someone clicks on that link or someone opens that particular thread in which our signature links are added????

 

Yeah. Forum signatures links also considered as the back links of your site. So do quality post on forum with link.

 

If you did a nice post along with your signature and the post is meaningful and related to your theme then you will definitely get a backlink and also a nice traffic to your site.

 

Forum signatures are not high quality links but they do count as backlinks.Regardless of nofollow or not, your signature link is still seen by members of the forums and you can still receive traffic.

 

I have a link in my sig.. are DP sigs Dofollow links? I downloaded a firefox plugin called nodofollow I'm not sure exactly which color is which but.. I'm guessing DP's sig links are nodofollow? So they will not count as backlinks?
