I hear from my friend that .info is worse for SEO than other TLD. Isn't it?

*shrug* We see no difference. You may want to search the forums as this discussion has come up a number of times previously. Just within the last week.

Content is the mantra. Focus on content and any domain will do.

The domain's SEO wouldn't be your issue, but user perception would. People respect .com's much more. I, for example, tend to ignore .info domains in search results.

I believe the main reason why we don't see many .info based projects rank high in the search results is because not many exist that could potentially compete. And that's because I myself prefer choosing a .com, .net or an .org for serious projects.

Based on my own experience, search engine is never practice favoritism to any TLD domain extension.
SEO is purely based on the content of the site and the link back to the URL.
The more the better for high search engine ranking.
