Hi, I would like to know if you have any suggestions on how to make visitors visit your website again. I am currently working on one of John Chow's idea which is to ''capture'' visitor's email. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Great content is a way to have people return. Remember that first impressions mean a lot with returning visitors.
Is your website a blog or forum? If you have a website where content can change easily based on posts or user submissions, try and make sure you are updating as much as possible. Maybe with a blog you should post 1-2 new posts daily, this will keep people interested in visiting your blog much more frequently.
That's not his idea. The problem with that overrated method is that not many will come back if the site isn't that good. And even if the site is good, one really doesn't need that method as many will come back on their own. As you already know, have a good site. Period.
Keep your advertising constant and consistent, with a common theme or message. Even during tough financial times people want to see brands they are familiar with and trust, which of course will lead to increased market share. Post on numerous forums, classifieds, get referrals etc
have very good content, use a blog, you can have a forum on your website, have a list and send them back to your website
Just work on the "content" of your site. If the readers find the content of your site useful they will surely come back.

this is my tacnique.. 1) make good content 2) place subscribe button or collect maling list 3) when you update you visitor get email and they must come again
Unique and quality content! It's the only thing to get your visitors again and spread the words about your site. You can also offer something like "Offer of the day" which you provide a quality free download on only that day. Wow your visitors and they will definitely come back.
Get them to subscribe to you RSS feed any time they find the content interesting they will click through to your website.
The visitors are always inspired by the attractive content.. Update your site with intersting content... Specially content that visitors like to take away also... As suggested above by some fellows that forum will also help you... Thanks..
