I also had a similar story, I started my blog, and 3 months in, I had received my first adsense check for $102. Since then, I've received checks of $260 (I got a frontpage Digg), and then $150.

Now, after getting this steady stream of adsense income coming in, I'm now selling leads for florida loan modifications. I have a simple blog that has loan modification stories on it, and I have a contact form. Readers come to the site, read about loan mods, and then complete my signup form.

I found a couple of buyers by contacting agents on Craigslist and sell the leads for $20 each. I'm selling about 5 per week, so I'm making an extra $400 per month, with a LOT less work than I was making doing Adsense alone. If you're interested, I put together a post on my blog detailing exactly how you can do local affiliate marketing in your spare time and make a ton of cash.

yeah nice one, just a quickie though. I have mentioned it on another thread but does anyone know of a penalty placed upon sites that run adsense by non google search engines and does google look more favorably upon sites that have adsense against those that do not?

Nothing in life is set and forget. Things are always going to have their ups and downs, but if you keep working hard and smart you'll come out on top in the long run.

This thread is really old so I don't normally update it, but I basically have moved onto bigger and better projects since 2006, many have a more local and real world focus these days that utilise the same marketing principles.

Though that said, I still am making very good money with AdSense using the exact same technique, but it is becoming a smaller and smaller percentage of my overall earnings, but it's safe for me to say that with every passing year my tax return is just getting bigger and bigger!

So things are still going well, but I am moving away from the AdSense optimised website with loads of traffic model.

I don't look at the two as mutually exclusive, and I think any savvy online marketer should be looking to always diversify their income to a degree.

Unfortunately I think this post got a lot of attention back in the day and so I'm sure there is always a steady stream of readers, and there is always going to be someone who is new to the online world and forum etiquette and just wants to add a "thank you" to the end.

    For sure.
The question now is if he is still earning the same amount. Has his earnings skyrocketed in the last 3 years, or have they nose-dived.

With the fact that more people have learnt about adsense and increased the competition, it will be nice to know if the success story was sustained in the longterm.

Motivating post though. Adsense is REAL!

I'm definitely earning more these days than I was back in 2006.

That said as I mentioned above I definitely see the limitation to AdSense and have been diversifying away from the program.
