Shared hosting should be fine for you as a start. Any host should hold your wordpress blog without any issues.

I am not too sure what do you mean by how many people are allowed at shared hosting at a time? Do you mean how many people will be placed on the server? Then that is up to the company to decide and whether they place Master Reseller or Resellers on the same servers or not. It is really up to the circumstances. However if you mean by how many domains you have on your shared hosting, it will depend on the number of add-on domains you are given by the company.

If your wordpress is small, go with a shared host for now.

I think shared hosting would be good for a WP blog. You only need dedicated server if your site gets too much traffic.

It depends on the server a quad core xeon with 4GB of RAM can keep around cca 200-300 shared accounts, depending on the bandwidth and disk space of each account. If you add another 4GB of RAM maybe you could fit 400 clients there without a problem.

Of course, good web hosting companies try to keep as few accounts per server as possible (100-200, general rule of thumb is to leave 40% of server resources as redundant reserves) to allow their clients' websites to grow and to avoid speed problems.

If this is nothing but a simple WordPress Blog, then all you really need is a basic shared hosting account. A VPS or Dedicated sever would be WAY overkill for your needs unless you have a huge amount of traffic and income from the blog.

There is no limit on the amount of "people" that can view a shared account, typically.

    Thank you for the input.

And what about 5 or 10 WP blogs?

I mean what is the limit in your opinion for a shared hosting account?

The "limits" are typically Space, and BW/Transfer. That said, depending on how busy and large the site is, the only real limitations you'll see are in your available disk space (generally not an issue for most WP blogs) and transfer.

Keep in mind, 15 or so low level, low intensity blogs are not going to be the same as 1 really busy site. Its more than possible to run multiple WP sites off one shared hosting plan.
