Hi, I have a client telling me that in Internet Explorer their site layout is not showing up properly and I have verified this by contacting someone else who has IE version 8.0.6001.18702IC. In firefox, chrome, and my version of IE (8.0.6001.18783), the site looks fine. Perhaps one of you could help me figure out what the problem is. The website is cheatersprivateinvestigators.co.uk I would really appreciate any help or insight into this problem Thanks, Ryan
They could be using IE 6 or 7 and see the problem. Check this out: Browsershots http://browsershots.org/ Generates screenshots of how websites appear at 800x600 and 1024x768 resolution in six commonly used web browsers. You'll like that
Thanks, that's a great website. It looks like the problem is with a lot of IE versions and some versions of Safari (although not as pronounced). Does anyone know why this might be? Ryan
yes: http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/...rofile=css21&usermedium=all&warning=1&lang=en Sorry! We found the following errors (2) URI : http://cheatersprivateinvestigators.co.uk/_css/cpi.css 453 .left-services Value Error : border , is an incorrect operator : #ffffff,solid,20px URI : http://cheatersprivateinvestigators.co.uk 85 Property p-right doesn't exist : 5px
Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I fixed those and there still seems to be a problem. I am not sure what to do.. any suggestions?
Hi Ryan, One of the issues might be that the site is made up of content taken from other websites. I noticed the whole content for one of the pages is word for word taken from a website created several years ago for one of our clients, and to top that there are also two images from the website being used on the cheatersprivateinvestigators.co.uk site. Cheaters indeed. We will be contating The Digital lion, www.thedigitallion.com, who list this website in their portfolio shortly.
