Don't listen to them, just do what you gotta do and if you fail, learn from it. I started my forum 5 months ago without listening to this negativity, there's always going to be negativity, just be real with it son. I'm now at 3k/month from my forum, no subscriptions.
forums are tough to earn as it takes ling time to grow yea as it grows higher you may earn more money but on the same side you'll have really many tensions like people spamming and short posts yea i had it too but it really made me mad and closed my forum you'll have tension everyday

This is officially my first post on this great forum, and just to answer an age old question that most people have a misconsception about and that is "What is the easiest way to make money on the internet?" LOL, I have yet to find a way for people to just come up to me and hand me money with nothing in return. Making money comes after long hours and hard work! Simple as that. Luck has a little to do with it, and if you are going to make any money on the internet, I am sure picking some brains on this forum is another good way to make it happen. Here's to many more posts and also go a great job well done on making this Forum a place for all of hard working people to come and make this adventure of trying to make money on the internet a little bit easier. LJ
Just work on your forum because you like it, not because of the money. The way I make money from my forum is I put ads of my own product on the forum, and when visitors come to my website and if they like the product they will buy it. My forum gets 30 visits perday, at least some of thoses click my other website. So basically my forum makes me $45 a month.
a forum isn't going to make you rich. I've run dozens of forums over the past 6 years. SOme are quite large, but i'm happy to cover server costs. There are other ways to make money online that are far easier.

Forums may not make any money, but forums can "help" you make money IMO. If you can get a forum going, it becomes the place to "gather" people and it brings constant traffic. I personally think for a site to get big and make$$, forum is very helpful. It makes people want to stay/come back
True, but there are different degrees of hard. Forums can be like granite, whereas ecommerce could be more of a walnut, and a content website could be more like firm cheese. It depends on your own aptitudes.
