Download link = a backlink?

    If I host files for download, such as an .mp3. If people link to the actual download URL, eg http://ww.thedomain.com/myfile.mp3 from another site,

    Is this classed as a back-link? Useful of gaining pagerank?

    .mp3 is not a warez. It's an extension. READ THIS
