What do you think: Will Google Chrome SO be better than any Win version ? And btw who tested Win 7, what do you think about it ?
Is an SO the same as an OS? Personally, I won't be letting Googs anywhere near the data on my drives.
But you are so willing to give it up to Microsoft, I guess. Why do you think Google looks at your data and where did you read it does this? (They don't but I'd like to see your reasoning.)
Not really. I run TOS/GEM, XP (yes really!), and various distros of Linux. Google's business is based on harvesting user data. e.g Google Desktop privacy policy: I love Google, but I don't trust them. If I was going to consider installing an OS from Google, I'd want to spend a week reading their privacy policy. That's all I meant.
Yeah! Google OS have the edge for being Open Source in nature! But its will be hard to beat Microsoft! Quality
Oh? If they are "harvesting" it, where does it say they do that and where does it say they use it? That is NOT "harvesting". It's using your data as a natural requirement of the use of the application (though you don't show what app they're talking about). Are you complaining that you must send what you are typing into Google Docs in order for it to work? Even your quote shows no data is even sent to Google! So why are you complaining about something that does not occur? Why? What have they done to warrant this mistrust? Do you trust Microsoft? A convicted monopolist on two continents? A company under Federal oversite?
LOL. You got it bad. Maybe he doesn't think any company with an almost monopolist hold on a market is to be trusted not just MS. How dare he! anyway he was very specific in what he put in bold (and red). It is not a "natural requirement" to mix the data on your computer into your search results. Not sure his understanding is right ( if there is not a way to disable this) but no need to imply his concerns are not legitimate.
There is no way that Google can out-do Microsoft in the OS field... And there's no way that Microsoft can out-do Google in the search engine field...
I agree google harvest user personal informations, but in the case of an OS, there must be some privacy. Does linux distros "look" through your pc data? I don;t think so. Google OS has to respect that, it will not be any isues of this kind if you use it. The general security I belive it will be a concern for all the firsts users of the Google OS.
Well i'm going to persist with my windows XP for a while, i may test out win 7 but i don't think i'll use Google chrome OS...
When I'm editing html pages that have google ads on them, the ads pick up keywords from my hard drive name. lol I'm happy with MS and the way it works, I don't like the price and their FREE trial junk preinstalled on PCs. I would adapt to G os in the workplace if necessary (just like I did with Apple), but it's not something I plan on converting to at home.
I think you are talking OS, not SO. Well, never try on google OS but sure google will take over some market from microsoft
