What are your best adsense strategies?

Hi everyone! I have been using adsense for a while now and have learned some things. I wonder what are strategies that all of you pros use that work for you. Or maybe you just figured something out that you can share. Here are a couple of mine:

Keep my adsense off the first page. I generally want users to have a chance to find out what is on the site; however, it does lower my revenue.

I generally use plain text links. I have not had a lot of luck with google keeping my competitors off my site. At least this way they dont advertise right next to my text.

methods of traffic increasing on your site is best for strategy.
for this purpose you must submit your site articles on social sites like pingomatic and hubpages and also on directories.

the next important thing is you shouldkeep your adsense at right place in site sometime within the page is nice option.
you also must adjust color of adsense with website background.

Yeah Ive had the same experience.

Thanks that's good info. I will review my adsense on my sites. Also nice to have some real responses and not just people trying to get their number of posts up...

I looked at your sites. You have to balance between Number of Ads per page and driving away visitors. If you plan to make money, then having 2 to 3 ad slots is good. That depends on your traffic too.

To increase your ad clicks, try placing ads inside your contents (wrap around the text).

I don't shy away from putting my ads right on the homepage. I don't much money to pay advertising so I have to write my own articles and send them to directories and always get high PR site for my one way backlinks and depend largely on organic searches.

    Thanks

Ok maybe I need to reevaluate ads on my index page on some of my sites. One of my sites is a fairly tight niche and is never going to receive a lot of traffic. I am more interested on that site in getting them to stay and subscribe. I will say that the site received much higher $/click than my other sites. Adjust, adjust, adjust...

I like the five link units scattered throughout content. It seems to do the trick.

Having ads on the front page is a great idea! There are a hurry burry people who just click on the first thing they see on the screen. You're missing out on a large portion of your revenue.

Adsense in the article. Use an adsense box and wrap the article around it.

Yes that always helps. That is why I have been looking at niches with broader audiences.

I do need to incorporate my adsense in my content better - thanks.
