Hi I am trying to help publicise my sisters new business idea called aMillionJobsToDo. It seems to be a really unique concept and unlike anything else being marketed at the mo but we really need help to promote it. We have issued several press releases and posted on a few forums but there doesn't seem to be anywhere in particular that is very relevant or that is helping to capture the public's imagination. With just about any site out there, the only real way is to advertise it. If you want to make money with it, you have to spend the money. It isn't done with stupid twitter, signatures, social networks, online videos.... Any experienced advertiser, marketer will tell you that. The big sites of today got to be big via advertising and word of mouth. Have you tried advertising in areas in your local area where people may need your services? One free place may be day care centers, where busy moms drop their kids off. Although many may not accept such advertising. It is a good idea, and I think she will have success with it. Good luck.
Thanks Perry Rose, yes we have ads listed on a few local sites but will consider local day care centres too as this sounds like a good possibility. Do you think it would be worth setting up a blog to help?
We've still not spent on advertising as to achieve her dream she needs to keep expenditure to a minimum but her new total is just over £3k now. We have added the site to a few directories but will also consider more now and we have also issued alot of PR's etc. Its on twitter facebook, digg etc etc but not really sure where else we could put it!
