Experiment: 0ptimise this thread for "Web Host"

I've been looking at the ads that get displayed on this forum (while not logged in), and I've struggled to find many threads that have relevant ones. So, as a pure academic exercise, I've started this thread to see if we can SE0 it and convince AS to show the right ads for it.

Note: this is not about getting clicks, revenue or traffic, this is only to see what AS decides to show on this thread.

So, if you would like to participate, post a reply that contains significant weighting to web hosts or web server hosting, or any other related phrase. Here's a list of ideas I have so far:

• Use bold, italics, underline to emphasise the key words.
• Make use of the title field when you post.
• Post links to web hosting companies using good anchor text.
• Of course, no spamming or black-hat/gray-hat techniques.

- feel free to use and tell us about your own methods. Here's a chance to demonstrate how good the DP members can be at SE0!

So why are you targetting the key phrase you are targetting? because it pay more and you want 50% revenue of a lot more??

Why not target some thing like charity .. free public service ads .. fund raising.

Remember although the ads do not seem relevant to you .. they are relveant to some.

Whats wrong with a little web host discussion, we all use web hosting and will give everyone using these forums an insight to how a.s. targets keywords, just like 'web host'

 

I happened to pick "web hosting" out of the air. It's completely unrelated to anything else I do, yet it gets a reasonable click price without being a very high paying key-word. Other, lower paying ones would struggle to out bid the generic ads for the forum.

Charity would have perhaps been a better idea, but I did not think of it at the time. I really am not expecting to get any revenue from this thread, as it's ads (for web servers) won't actually match the content (i.e. this experiment).

The aim is for us all to learn a little bit more about how A.S. works, and how to write posts that get a slightly higher revenue perhaps. Perhaps I should have put it in the other forum, but that will have an additional bias towards the ads I'm trying to get away from.

I doubt that you will be able to get this thread to rank well for Web Host, no matter how many times we say Web Host. The reason is that this term is incredibly commercial, meaning there is a large bankroll of anchor text already stacked against your plan. Without a serious backlink campaign, I don't think it will rank, even with the site-mass and other benefits that it gets from being hosted on DP. Great experiment anyway...

Guys, this thread is a huge waste of all of your times. I've now officially wasted 4 minutes of my life. I wonder if there is a way to get them back.
