Page Rank and why you think it is unimportant....

Everytime someone post a thread about pagerank you will always get people saying,

"STOP worrying about pagerank, its WORTHLESS"

My question is, How could I stop worrying about it when Google puts so much time and money into updating it and making it better?

My thought is, if Google cares about it... I care about it.

Your thoughts?

Btw, many others like exchange links, paid review etc all depends on PR

 

I think it is unimportant because I started a site a few months ago and managed to get it in the top 3 rankings for a certain keyword with no PR. In the last update my PR hit 2 from one but I have stopped building links and now I am in the 8th position.

 

I care about. I don't think it's super-important when trying to rank for a particular keyword but for pulling the pages of your site into the main Google index, some nice, high PR links works a treat.

 

I could start a website right now and be first for my keywords. That all depends on how much competition there is for your keywords. You won't find a website with no pagerank that is ranking for competitive keywords.

Hello...

The reason most of us think its worthless is that a PR0 site can be on top of search
results above PR4s and PR7s and in the end traffic is all that matters for sales.

I have a directory that is in #1 for its keywords with over 240,000,000 million results
and its above googles own site link (PR7) and other directories using same keywords with PR4s and 5s...

Also, Page Rank is extremely important for backlink building, selling/buying links, and selling sites

 

Its fun to try to get high PR.

 

i also dont care about pr bcoz its nothing relate with keyword rank so its better to focus on how to get rank on comp. keyword compare to pr increase

 

But PR helps in selling and monetizing your blog or site.

 

Becouse

Higher pr doesn't mean higher RANKINGS or higher TRAFFIC or higher EARNINGS (and that's all that mathers)

and becoise being a seo i ranked PR 0 sites for competitive terms milions and milions of results over some "high PR sites"

 

Then we'd better tell Google how they're wasting all that money on engineers, algorithms, etc, to compute PR. They should listen to Digital Point members, not to Sergei, Larry, and the multiple Ph.D.'s involved in keeping Google so successfully at the top of the search engine world.

 

Im afraid of the changing its rules, because we all depend on google SE

 

It is easier to get listed high in search results if you have good page rank. The fact is some sites have low page rank but good seo and get listed for some search times that high page rank sites are listed lower. Work on seo of your site and find some good keywords. Submit site to directories and work on getting links from sites related to your sites topic and you will do ok. No need to worry about Pr you will get some over time worry about where site is listed in search results that is what gets traffic.

 

I also do believe that PR is important factor in website promotion and ranking.

 

If you're doing Adsense or Adwords, a good PR can get you better clickthrough rates.

 

I try hard to care about it,but every time i do,it falls apart.then i leave trying.Within news update it goes to rise again,stimulate me again to try hard one more time, and the vicious cycle continues.My blog has risen and fallen within 4 and 1 at least 4 times.
