$35 Logo Contest - Action Plumbing

Discussion in 'Design Contests' started by typingmums, Jul 7, 2009.

    Its LOGO time!

    Heres the details:

    Business Name: Action Plumbing Services

Colour client likes: Needs to fit in with their current website http://www.actionplumbing.com.au - ideally would like it on a transparent background

Logo use: All stationery, signage and printed on truck

Format: 100% Vector, fully scalable (including all text) - I understand that Vectors can be created using paths in photoshop but I have experienced problems with these recently as the drop shadows and strokes are not vector. I would prefer all logos to be created in Illustrator or Corel Draw

Style: Nothing to flashy - the owner is a pretty down to earth Plumber - just recognises now that its important to have a logo

My client wont be given the link to this forum but I will be speaking with him frequently to get feedback so I'll get it back to you as quickly as I can. I'll upload all the logos to a page for them to view - and then upload the feedback under each of the designs - much easier to keep track that way (for all of us!)

As with all of my contests, I ALWAYS announce a winner but very rarely state an end time as I like to see what comes through and work with that.

Payment will be made via PayPal as soon as the winner is announced.

Fire away with any questions and good luck!

    Rach xxxx

    Thanks Technoguy :)

Would prefer to see 'Plumbing' as prominent as 'Action' - not so keen on the font used for 'Action' as I dont think they work too well together. Quite like the spanners... I guess they're plumbers tools?? Thanks :)

Heres the feedback page - I'll update it as I get feedback from the client :)

    http://fontmedia.com.au/action_plumbing/logo.html

As this client will be difficult to get feedback off, a lot of it will be left down to me so I may not show him all of the designs. Hes pretty blaze about it all but I do know what hes looking for. So, I'll only be adding those which I think he'll be interested in to the feedback page, but I will personally give feedback to ALL of the designs :)

Thanks sunaina. I'm not keen on the colours or the font you've used for this one sorry. I like the fact that the word 'services' is smaller than the other words.

Thanks jnjnnino - I like the font you've used for 'Action' and the colours are good. No tag line is needed though so the layout would need to be changed to allow for that. Would like to see the word 'plumbing' as prominent as the word 'Action' if possible.

When creating designs would you display them with transparent backgrounds please. It is good for me to be able to see them on the background they'll be sat on on the website, but this logo will also be used for business cards and on the side of a van so I really need to see it no no background at all. If need be the website could be edited to fit with the logo so dont worry too much about that (although ideally I dont want to have to do that). Thanks

Hi Phoenix - thanks for that - not really sure what I think of it to be honest - seems a little unbalanced with the Action all the way over to the right. Also I'd like all of the logos to be transparent please if possible. It may well end up being sat on a blue background but my client would like the option to sit it on other colours if possible.. so transparent is the best way to go :) Thanks

I'm not keen on the hammer - doesnt really shout 'plumber' to me??

Thanks Crowquill. I quite like the colours you've used. I'm not sure what I think about the P though - I'll add it to the page for my client to see and get his feedback :)

Nice to see something different otakatun thanks!

I like the idea of the Pipe (cant think of the technical word for it!!) but I'm not keen on the graphic you've used (or made). The rings on it look 3D but the pipe itslef looks 2D. I'm pretty sure hes not going to go with Red either... he seems pretty set on Blues and Golds.

Definitely nice to see something different though. I quite like the bottom design.. would maybe like to see a different graphic though as the hard hat looks more like a builder to me. Having said that, if you could show me this in Blues and Golds I'll show it to my client for his feedback.

DOnt know if this is what you looking for but I give a try here:

The pipe have been changed to look more 2d :)

I make the graphic(the wrench itself is a traced from a real pipe wrench available which I think its will not have a copyright issue since it a basic tool but correct me if Im wrong)

All the graphic have a solid stroke and all path have been closed so its much easier to changed the colour in future :)

    Cheers
