Hi, I have submitted my website Google analytics and website per day visitor 80-90 and 50% visitor search engine and 50% visitor Referring Sites but my website # 67.20% Bounce Rate.so please let me know that is helpful and harmful my website please clears my doubt
Whenever your visitor left your site from very first entrance page. It becomes high when the entrance page is not relevant to traffic. But i always wander that google analytics show it in green color when its getting more that is usually an alarming stage they must show it in red color.
Bounce Rate is too much ... it means visitors visit your website and not visiting back or with out any action they close your web page.
Oh u have high Bounce rate.. Almost visitors not staying on th esite.. What is your pageviews?... Any how try to update the contnet and concentrate on Onpage optimization also.. THe bounce rate sould be less than 25%
When I look at bounce rate I also look at the keywords that led my visitors. If the keywrods aren't relevant, the bounce rate will be huge for sure.
Don't worry. If I found your post from Google, and it has enough info, I'll leave this post without check other pages. However, this high bounce rate doesnot mean that your site is not quality. High bounce rate may be caused by you have little number of pages.
Some reason that your site is getting high bouncerate: Site Structure - It's important that your site has well structured where in your visitors can view easily the products, services and information that they were looking for. Site Design - Site design is important to attract visitors. Site targeted keywords - It is important that your targeted keywords is really related to your products, services or niche of the sites.
A high bounce rate basically means that you are targeting the wrong kind of audience, or, alternatively, that you have to take measures at improving the quality and credibility of your site. Revise your site to single out spots that you think might leave your visitors dissatisfied, as well as the keywords you are targeting. Try to figure out whether the type of information presented on your site would be exactly the kind one would be looking for for a given search term.
OK but bounce rate cannot say the site content has no quality. Many visitors will stay on your website if you have a very attractive user interface. Concentrate on site design and make it more attractive.
how does google analytics calculate bounce rate, is it determined by how long people stay on site? if so whats the time frame they use, my shark fishing site has a fairly high bounce rate of about 50%, in saying that though, ive optimised it for "shark fishing' and "game fishing", i get a lot of visitors that have searched for the term "shark fishing games" which i rank highly for, i didnt aim to optimise for this term it just happened, obviously these people click on my site and realise i dont sell shark fishing games, (i run shark and game fishing charters. Maybe i should create a shark fishing board game and sell that too! what do you folk think?
If you have a high the bounce rate, that can mean several things. Your site loads too slow, your content is not attractive, people are not finding the information they wanted, the sources of traffic are not targeted,,,. Besides the bounce rate, you need to take the sources of traffic into consideration. Such as social bookmarking traffic has an average bounce rate of @ 85% - 90%. If most of your traffic is from social bookmarking sites, then expect a high bounce rate.
Google Analytics counts a visit as a bounce if the visitor saw only one page and then left your site. This will happen a lot if they see it and think "this isn't what I was looking for". Maybe they arrived there via keywords that don't have anything to do with your site, or maybe the site isn't inviting, so they don't stay. But there are some reasons for high bounce rate that might be okay. For example, if you want customers to find you and call you, you should put your phone number on every page and make it easy for visitors to find. The visitor comes to the site, finds your phone number, calls you, then leaves the site. This will count as a bounce, but it's really a success for your business.
I agree with the commnets of Hersheys's . So work on it and definitely the bounce rate will decrease.
Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate) is a term used in web site traffic analysis. It essentially represents the percentage of initial visitors to a site who "bounce" away to a different site, rather than continue on to other pages within the same site. The formula used to calculate bounce rate is: Bounce Rate = Single Page Access/ Entries A bounce occurs when a web site visitor leaves a page or a site without visiting any other pages before a specified session-timeout occurs. There is no industry-standard minimum or maximum time by which a visitor must leave in order for a bounce to occur. Rather, this is determined by the session timeout of the analytics tracking software. A visitor can bounce by: * Clicking on a link to a page on a different web site * Closing an open window or tab * Typing a new URL * Clicking the "Back" button to leave the site * Session timeout A commonly used session timeout value is 30 minutes. In this case, if a visitor views a page, doesn't look at another page, and leaves his browser idle for longer than 30 minutes, they will register as a bounce. If the visitor continues to navigate after this delay, a new session will occur.
