You can copy the structure first. Then copy the data in two steps. 9MB+9MB.

You should get a 18mb SQL file and then import it in ssh.

At the present host do you have access to phpmyadmin ? It can help you export data efficiently.

If you do not have phpmyadmin on your host, it will be a good idea to download it and set it up.

Choose Export -> Select the export format (SQL), Choose Save as File and select gzipped format.

This will compress the database in gzip format. I am sure a 18MB db will be around / less than 10MB when compressed. It should solve your problem.

While importing in dreamhost you can specify the gzipped file and import it there through phpmyadmin.

Or you can open the file and break it up in to (in your case) two smaller files. Just go about half way down, and take from there below and put it in a new file. Use phpMyAdmin to import the two files.

With a desktop program with http tunnel you won’t have problem with timeout or max file size.

    I’m using SQLyog: http://www.webyog.com/

The best out there, very satisfied :)
