i have an online lingerie shop, i setup this shop few month ago, my target customers are local ladies. i tried put ADs on some websites which have high PR and traffic, and submitted to some website directories. so far i didn't get too much orders, i'm wondering to know there is any away to promote my site?
Well you can promote your business in many other ways such as Youtube, forum sig link, avatar, article submission, PPC ... etc.
It takes time to build customer base (same as offline). Keep on trying everything you read about in this forum, and I recommend setting up reviews of your site. Also, check sites like shopping.com, you can register your products there (you will pay them PPC).
Promotion needs many marketing skills. How to make more and more people know you online shop, it is very important for a shopkeeper. So why not try to post useful imformation in you online shop, and put more items in you shop. I think in thiese way, you can attractive your clients more better.
Like Surat said, Youtube will be a great way to promote it if you're any good with creating a video. If not then PPC (pay per click) via Google adworsd and Yahoo ads etc for targeted traffic - that is if you've got some money to throw at advertising!
thanks guys, just now i started a AD on facebook, i will not go to google adwords, i'm not good at choosing keywords i'm also considering hire a article writer, publish some advertorial on free article site like ezinearticles.com i'm thinking of offline promote, does this really better than online?
Hello, I would say to open up your market, and use SEO to market your site. This is a proven method that in my opinion works the absolute best. For one, it is absolutely free, and yields amazing results if you do the process right. Thanks, Nick
thanks NBordeau. my online shop is using oscommerce, i'm planning move it to nopcommerce after September, seems nopcommer is much better that oscommerce. it has build-in SEO features link URL friendly, meta tags.......
When it comes to SEO meta tags don't really matter that much anymore. Building quality backlinks is where your focus should be. If you want quality traffic faster I'd say get into PPC. That' probably your best bet...
Ebay? Adwords? I use ebay to help establish ourselves as a known "brand name" and build rapport with users. We're still a relatively new website, but we're making a few thousand in sales each week through this process. Unfortunately, ebay and paypal pees suck, but it's the price you pay to increase this rapport I've already mentioned. People trust ebay. They don't trust a random website that just popped up on the web. I spend about $50 biweekly on Adwords, and this also generates quite a few leads. I think this initial price is fine to pay, in order to expand your business exponentially in the long run. (I just anxiously await for the reviews to come pouring in on popular sites!)
May I check, For somethign like a Lingrie store, what articles can be posted that would be of interest to the buyers? How about videos? What videos can be created that gets to the target market?
You should look around for forums to advertise on. Something that goes along the line of what you are selling
That's it, right there. You need to put ads out there. Advertising and word of mouth are really the only two ways to make money; bring in a lot of quality traffic. SEO may sound like a good idea, but you first have to be lucky enough to even land high enough to be seen. On top of that, organic traffic is notorious for rarely buying. Sorry, but that is the reality. It's none of this hear say shit. NBordeau, how do you know it has "amazing results"? Are you on page one? You can try the video route, but don't you still have to bring traffic to it? So that's out. Directories is one of the worst ways, as you have already found out. Article marketing. You will spend more time on it and get back little in return. You will make more money at a minimum-paid job. After doing all of these and more "methods" that only the inexperienced do, you will see that advertising is your best bet. Have your ads and your site critiqued before you advertise any more. Oh, and high page-rank sites mean absolutely nothing. There are sites out there with a lot of traffic but have horrible page rank, and, vice versa. You want to focus on how your ads look, how your site looks, how their site looks, how much traffic they get, what their bounce rate is (but I doubt they will tell you the truth), and, where they place your ads.
