Hi all, I need two separate banners for my personal blog, a little 109x30 one on the left side where now it says "101Random011Thoughts1010," and a bigger one for the empty space on the right side. The little banner should say "Random Thoughts," and it's OK if you want to use the same idea I had of the random 1 and 0's. It HAS to be exactly 109x30 -- I'm also attaching the background to make things easier for you. The second one should say "Random Thoughts" and "Dario Borghino's Weblog" as a tagline. I would like something fresh and essential, but professional-looking and that integrates well with the rest of the design. Perhaps a pixelated look would fit here, but it's up to you to decide. Let me know if you need further info. I'll provide you with feedback on your work. Payment via Paypal. Looking forward to seeing your stuff
Yes, same background color. The exact dimensions don't matter as long as I can put it in that empty area on the right, so you have more freedom that way depending on what you have in mind.
To all entries so far: first of all thanks for sending your stuff. Looking at all of them made me realize that a static banner would be much better -- a flashy one would be distracting users from the content, and I really want them to focus on that . I should also have specified before that I'd like the banners to somehow convey the idea of "random" or chaos, the way the current one on the left side does with the random 1 and 0's. So far I like the most the ones by starpix and spidynet (in that order), while I don't particularly like the fonts used by elialfgey (and they have too much of a "flashy" feeling -- see above). starpix: your small banner is animated but I like it, it's still discreet. To convey the idea of "random", could you try applying the effect to each letter separately instead of each word? Could you also try the same effect putting using the same texts as the current banner (1's and 0's on two separate lines, trying to make the text as big as possible?) Thanks. spidynet: maybe a little "too white" and also conveys the idea of tidy, which is the opposite of random -- see above .
Not bad, I like the font but I don't think it would blend too well with the background -- I'd prefer if you couldn't tell where the banner stops. Also see my previous message about conveying the idea of random. Thanks!
Not bad at all. A few notes: a) the first image is not of the required size; b) the background color of the big banner is not exactly the same; c) it reminds me a little too much of arcade games. Could you try, always with a monospace font (maybe a different one since this one reminds of arcade games), to fill in also the space in the second line? The 1's and 0's are probably not enough as it is.
All green is maybe a little too "humdrum" and I don't think a glossy look fits well here. I also think it's a bit too big and I'd change the font.
Thanks for your feedback.. I'll change the font and colour.. but I'd like to know what do you think if I make this for the small left banner : let me know.. thanks
phoenix: I like the top part, but would change the font of the second line and maybe put it a little more on the left -- don't worry if it doesn't occupy all the width. Thanks!
