How Do I Evade Paypal Fees?

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by sydzapp, Jul 6, 2009.

Recently i noticed that Paypal charged fees for few of my transactions while not for some. In all transactions i'm at the receiving end. How do you evade such fees? I mean what does the sender have to do so that neither of us are charged the fees.
P.S. I have the basic Paypal account.

Payments made with CC cost you a fee even when you have a basic account. I'm not sure about e-checks.

Payments paid from a paypal balance incurr no fees if you have a personal account.

There is no fee incurred if the payment is made with a bank account which is hooked up to the PayPal account.

there is a option in sending money.
there are two options personal and purchase.
if the buyer sends u payment by personal option then u wont incur any fees, but its only to be used between friends and relatives so its better that u dont use it more often

I never thought there is a way of evading paypal fees. Well as for me, I always been charged with fees everytime I received money from my clients. But oh well, what life would be for me without paypal which makes getting money faster and securely for me.

The rules have long changed and it no longer depends on your account type. Instead, it now depends on the type of transaction chosen by your buyer between personal/business which determines the fees. For personal transactions, there are no fees! :)

Does this mean we could still ask the buyer to use the personal tab each time he pays ??

I recently did some business and the guy asked me to use the personal option. I don't have any problem with doing it - Paypal is already making a fortune. But that's just me.

Unfortunately, I have bid link directory which doesn't have the option to use the personal option so I still get charges for personal fees. I don't mind however as long as I still get some income.

What's only depressing is that the $2 i'm supposed to earn dwindles to $1.xx something.

Yup, the best option is to use Personal option to avoid any kind of fee. :)
But that doesn't applies on a cc payment.
