YouTube Videos

Is it possible to play Youtube videos through your media player (VLC)? I would like to see the video on a larger screen. If so, does the picture get badly distorted?

    Thanks.

You can download YouTube videos by going to keepvid.com.

Download the flv or mp4. Both will play in VLC - but the mp4 will look nicer.

this will help you.... Use online flv converter
    vixy.net
    mediaconverter.com
    converttube.com
    keepvid.com (does not convert)
    online.movavi.com
    flv2mp3.com
they can directly convert online FLV/YouTube to AVI/MP3/WMV/3GP/MP4/iPod /Zune /PSP. they are full free! then you can play wmv on windows media player.

You can see detail and check it out: http://www.flvto.net/online-flv-converter/

I use downloadhelper.net to download videos off YouTube in MP4 format, just search for the full version with torrents, it's worth it.

Even youtube has the full screen play option. You can try that as well if you do not want to download it.

VLC has alot more options in the latest version, i'd suggest just trying to link and play the videos directly through VLC it also has options to save the stream or for that matter further distribute it over a network if that's your thing :)

They would be distorted, as the files are uploaded and youtube converts them to a standard 640 x 420 size i believe.

While i agree with you Inskyzgraphics VLC is one of the best options for network streams as well as local ripping and downloading, i'm quite sure they'll improve it enough so you can even down the HD videos on youtube :)

Though PPagent you should realize that at the moment VLC cant stream properly on a network, every pc needs to have VLC and an HTTP socket open to the specific port in order to connect properly =]
