Check out Microsoft Notepad. It doesn't have many features, but you can use it anywhere, as long as you know web design.
That was a horrible suggestion to a beginner webdev Everybody needs to start with frontpage / dreamweaver / some GUI editor to understand the concepts of design, how things are layed out and how HTML works.
Ok maybe not frontpage, but an equivalent. They need to learn the concepts of tables, stylesheets, basic tags and stuff like that before they can start in notepad. You need to learn the fundamentals of math before you can do algebra.
Another anti-FrontPage webmaster! I learned with just notepad in a matter of days with only about an hour a day when I was a really young kid.
if your seriuos about design/dev ... you gotta get Dreamweaver - you wont look back, trust me. Its the industry standard.
This at least how I learned, and how i highly reccomend others to learn. Design pages in eg: frontpage. (DESIGN VIEW) Get used to how things fit together, and depend on eachother Slowly try to tweak things without the gui (CODE VIEW), but still using the design view mostly Try to duplicate things you were able todo in the design view, using the code view This way, people understand what the code does, but adding it themselves, yada yada yada I was 13ish years old? I use nothing but notepad now, yes, but everybody needs to start small. Baby steps.
I find dreamweaver best WYSIWYG editor compare to frontpage and coffee cup but they all r paid and without using them u can not get better idea how to use notepad ( because there u need hand coding)
I learned when I was about 11-12 with notepad, so basically, it depends on the person. It all depends on how you learn best
im 15 and i suggest to start out with dreamweaver i love it and wouldent know what to do with out it.ive learnt mostly everything i know from it so if you can afford the price defently go for it
There are many free graphics software out there, but it depends really on your goals and needs! I find Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash are the best ones... but you can go with http://www.gimp.org/ for graphics it's FREE...
