You can find detailed answers on promotion techniques and social bookmarking by searching this forum. A few days of reviewing the posts will get you up to speed, then if you have detailed questions this forum is great for that.

As for nofollow blogs, the links can still be valuable if they have high human traffic that is related to your site and might click on it.

nofollow links are still worth it for every engine but google. Google will still crawl it just not give it any backlink credit.

Search the forums, there are a few large dofollow lists around.

 

I am also looking for new and successful ways to promote my sites. So far just commenting and gaining backlinks is doing wonders for me, along with social bookmarking but that can only go so far.

You should try and get a link from a highly rated related website. Google does not hold much importance to easy to get links imo

 

Who said every search engine gives credit. I can tell you Yahoo does not give credit to nofollow links. What is left then?
