why does my site have a pagerank of 4?

I registered a domain last year and finally decided to set it up testing and to my surprise it has a pagerank of 4!!!

This is a new domain, never been registered before, in addition there are no incoming links. How did it get to a PR of 4?

Did you redirect the domain to another domain that already had a PR4?

Yes, when you redirect a domain to a domain with PR, the domain you redirected will get the same PR. The bad thing is, most pr checkers will show it as 'fake' PR so it's not really worth much :p

Yes. Redirect is fake PR. But if not redirect , maybe something is wrong , totally

Yeah... it happens. I was once puzzled over why one of my domains has a PR when there's not even a website on it and then I realized I was redirecting it to a domain with PR. After I stopped the redirect thing, it went back to PR0. That's when I learned all about this fake PR thing :)
