I don't want to rain on this thread, but that is complete BS first off you have to be 18 to have both an ebay account an a paypal account legally so how the hell did he net in so much money at 16 and you have to be 18 to even start your own business let alone a company. It just sounds like this guy got smart and made a lot of cash and wanted to slap an inspirational story so he gets more reputation.
I'm sure the kid has parents, that's all you need. It's the same way that kobe bryant entered the nba at 17. He wasn't old enough to legally sign the papers so his mom did.

That is a funny remark. Well, I wrote this post because I thought this would help most people here to grab the idea on how to really make money online. i.e. Through advertising. There is no Link to any crappy product actually. There is no point in doing so because the only way to create wealth is by hard work and continuous learning, as we can learn from Gurbaksh Chahal and many other teenagers with a successful online business.

As I learned about him very recently, I ignore why the news about his successful business weren't more spread actually.
I guess you got me wrong here, or, I might have been rather unclear with my title. What I meant by stating that a 16 years old made that kind of money, is exactly that. He started at 16 y.o. and managed to create those companies. It doesn't matter if he was 18 years old when he finally sold it for $40 m. The main goal of this article, is to point out something wrong with our educative system. We are brainwashed into a life doomed to failure because those who are in charge of the education in every country, are not interested in developing competitors. They rather want slaves, servants, limited minded creatures that will gladly work for a ridiculous fraction of what they deserve by nature. The leaders of this world are in that position because they got the most powerful weapon: Information. The rest are just mere followers. Of course, if everybody were an entrepreneur, there wouldn't be any business. If everyone is a Sheppard there wouldn't be any sheep to shear so to speak. Finally, about how a minor could start up a business, in one of those tv shows I mentioned, he said his older brother helped him to get a credit card, and so on. This is a true story and the barrier that separate a rich one from a poor one, is the knowledge that it can be done. And paradoxically, those who aren't attached to material life, are richer in every sense of the word.
I have been involved in schools enterprise projects where students from age 8 - 15 have to run businesses ... it is amazing to see the development that they get from this. Some simple ideas - some brilliant ones - some academically weak students turn out to be stars ... and they all learn to appreciate the value of money and WORK!
